Wedding pictures

COMING SOON!

We've had many people asking us where the hell the pictures are. We are fortunate to have about 1,000 pictures to go through between the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony and the reception.

We are working on them, and they have been so much fun to look at. It was a truly incredible day, and we both get a little choked up looking at everything.

We'll get everything posted soon. Thanks for all of your continued excitement!

Dress Code and Registries

We are count 'em *9* days away from May 15th! Yeah!

And there are two questions that we're answering individually at the moment quite a bit so I'll just put it all here:

Question #1: What's the dress code for the wedding?
Answer: dressy casual. We aren't formal people so khakis are okay in our book! Be who you are! Or if you have a fancy dress you've been wanting to show off, by all means pull it out!

Questions #2: Where are you registered?
Answer: You have two choices actually.

We are accepting donations to HRC here: https://secure3.convio.net/hrc/site/Donation2?3661.donation=form1&df_id=3661

Or we've compiled a list of actual items on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wedding/1C7ZSYDKTIHBU
(which includes a couple of local options as well)

Any more questions ask here, text, call, Facebook, whatever! We never mind hearing from anyone!

We can't wait to see you very, very soon!!

Wedding Shower

Val's coworkers threw us a LOST-themed wedding shower, complete with Jesus Sticks, Fish Biscuits, "Frogurt", and Dharma Cookies- and a Dharma cocktail...

We are so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people.

Shannon created these LOST lanterns! We kept a few of them.

4...8...15..16...23...42... every 108 minutes.

Everyone knows we love to cook for people, so we got some grilling and cooking supplies!

Everyone also knows how much we love our board games.

Joel busted out a doctor coat and came as Jack.

Yummy treats- plus the Dharma logo with two brides in the center saying "I DO!"

TEN MORE DAYS!!!

ONE. MORE. MONTH.

In one month from today, we will be the Silk-Kremenaks. It’s amazing. We announced a year ago we were getting married, and we only have to wait 30 more days for it to be a reality.

We’ve been a little antsy about it lately too. Everything is done. Completely. It’s kind of sad and a relief and a blessing all at the same time. We get to spend the next 30 days filled with excitement leading up to the big day.

Of course, Val is going to have 7,000 panic attacks between now and then worried that something is going to go wrong, and Lindsay is going to roll her eyes 7,000 times that Val is being ridiculous.

We’re very excited to see our families all in the same room! It’s been a while since we’ve both gotten to see our parents, so it will be nice to get and give mom/dad hugs. We’re touched that so many of our friends from out-of-state are trekking in to join us for the event. We’re equally thrilled to share the day with so many fantastic people that we have grown to love in the (almost) 4 years we’ve lived in Chicago. It does not escape us how lucky we are to have each and every one of your in our lives.

We’re waiting for the last few RSVP cards to trickle in, and then we can give final counts to the caterer. If you’re reading this and you haven’t sent your card… you know what to do.

Stay tuned!

The RSVP card

Since the question was asked, we just thought we would mention that the stamp on the RSVP card is a real stamp. You can put it in the mail and it will get to us. :-)

Some fun updates!

So, as we mentioned at the beginning of this blog, we are both major planners. We've pretty much been done with the planning of this when we started this blog in October. We've been back tracking and saying "oh yeah, that's been done too! we should blog about that!"

We finally got our rings. They're in their little boxes on our headboard. That was pretty exciting to open the box and see those gleaming bands staring back at us. We're really doing this, huh? :-)

We realized we haven't said much for a month. Then it dawned on us that we have some stuff coming up to talk about! Some things that we HAVEN'T done yet! Hooray!!

Wednesday is going to be a big day for us. We are meeting with the operations manager at Center on Halsted to devise our game plan of what the theater and the reception hall are going to look like. As much as we've brainstormed at home about how we want things set up and what it will all look like, it will be awesome to finally sit in the middle of the theater and visualize it.

After that, we are headed to the caterer for our tasting. We really think we've put together a menu full of things that people will really enjoy, and foods that people will thank us for for keeping it real. He asked us to remind him that we need to discuss wines, so here's hoping "discuss" means getting good and sloshed!

The invites are done, and this weekend we're putting them together. We got a special item in the mail yesterday that is going to add the perfect little disgustingly cute aspect to them.

Busy week ahead for the Silk-Kremenaks! 3 short months to go!!

Presents? We don't need no stinkin presents!

... but, we won't turn presents away!! :-)

Seriously, we don't *need* anything. We live in the city, we have an apartment, but everything we've read says that people will insist on buying you stuff for your wedding whether you like it or not. So fine! We made a registry.

OR!!!

Even better than presents, donate in our name! We've set up a site on the HRC (Human Rights Campaign) website, that instead of a physical present, we ask that you support the fight for equal rights for all by donating to the HRC. It's simple to do, just click the link below to go to our unique website and donate from there in the denomination you choose.

And to everyone THANK YOU for your love, support and just sharing one awesome day with us!! Only 4.5 more months! Wheeeeee!!

Happy New Year!

A few days late, but Happy New Year to all of our family and friends! We are so excited that 2010 is finally here, and a true COUNTDOWN has begun!!

Thanks to everyone for their continued support and excitement as we gear up for the big day.

And oh-- by the way, if you guys don't tell us what you like to dance to, we will play the Macarena and electric slide over and over and over..... see the post before this one for the link to cast your vote for what is played!

Much LOVE!!
